An itinerary up in the high mountains full of unique glimpses, where the main role is given to the glaciers and the deep changes they have caused in the landscape of the Alps.
During the millennia glaciers have been shaping the landscape of the Alps, creating some glacier valleys with their typical U-form and some moraines aside, remains of the erosion effect. This itinerary up in the high mountains, which goes all above the altitude of 2.300 m. (and reaches the altitude of 2.600 m.), gives us a wonderful view of these amazing landscapes. From the mountain hut Rifugio Pian Venezia you can have a beautiful view of the valley Val Venezia, a typical U-form glacier valley. This valley was mainly dug by the glacier Vedretta de la Mare but also by other glaciers reaching these highs onetime, which covered and shaped it with their weight and movements. In the valley you can still see the effects of the erosion, which are the moraines aside the valley left back by the glacier tongues which occupied this valley in the past.
