If you prefer the freedom of charting your own path on fresh snow instead of following marked routes, and the silence of snow-covered peaks is your ideal environment, the mountains surrounding Val di Sole will be a natural playground for ski mountaineering.
After the challenge of the ascent, nothing is more rewarding than breathing in the crisp high-altitude air, silently admiring the pristine panoramas around you, and preparing for the adrenaline and absolute freedom that only a descent on fresh snow can offer.

How to get ready?
💡 TIPS FROM OUR ALPINE GUIDES
#1Choose a tour suitable for your abilities and physical preparation: Ski mountaineering is an activity that requires physical effort, concentration, attention, and knowledge of the mountains.
#2Gather information about the chosen route and snow conditions: We recommend contacting the Alpine Guides from the Alpinism and Ski Mountaineering School of Val di Sole. In addition to organizing guided ski mountaineering tours, they provide important technical information, snow condition updates, and suggest the best routes based on your experience and current conditions.
#3 Always check the avalanche bulletin and bring your self-rescue kit: Before setting out on your ski mountaineering excursion, always consult the avalanche bulletin and bring a self-rescue kit (ARTVA, shovel, and probe), ensuring that they are in perfect working condition. Additionally, starting from January 1, 2022, it is mandatory for all skiers to have insurance coverage for liability in case of damage or injury to third parties.
