This round itinerary, with a great landscape value, is dedicated to the secret world of geology, which shows on this itinerary some of its best and more original examples.
The Trentino sector of the Park is characterized by metamorphic rocks, i.e. rocks that were subjected to such immense pressure and heat that, as a consequence, the original rocks have been transformed. The metamorphic rocks of the valley Val di Rabbi are mainly micaschists, deriving from the transformation of fine-grained, sedimentary rocks, such as clay or mud, that have been exposed to very little thermodynamic change. You can also find pieces of rocks deriving from the transformation of igneous rocks.

The fragmentation of rocks, as well as atmospheric conditions, are the causes of slope movements that continue to modify the landscape of the valley.

This itinerary takes us further to the waterfalls Cascate di Saènt which are the most beautiful of the entire park Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio. They are two impressive waterfalls, which makes this part of the brook Torrente Rabbiés and can be seen from a closer distance: the first one from the typical wooden bridge just below the waterfall and the other one from several panoramic viewing points along the path.
