Pellizzano stands in a flat area on the banks of the Noce River. The village is made up by Pellizzano and Ognano, and the mountain hamlets of Termenago and Castello.
It boasts numerous accommodation facilities and a ski jumping and nordic combined competition centre. To ski, you can go to nearby Folgarida and Marilleva, which provide access to the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta Val di Sole Val Rendena Skiarea.
Besides tourism, other more traditional activities linked to the history of the village have become established in recent years. These include trading of timber, animal breeding, retail, and artisan activities.
Lake Caprioli, 1280 m, is situated 5 kilometres above the village of Pellizzano. There are two ways to reach the lake: by car, which is the most convenient option (5 minutes to the foot of the lake, with paid parking in the summer); or on foot, along the Sentiero degli Gnomi (or “Dwarf Trail”), a theme trail that takes its name from the forest dwarf-inspired sculptures found along the way, made of wood, stone and other natural materials. The trail is steep (4-km walk with a difference in height of approximately 400 metres) therefore not suitable for strollers. The educational trail starts at the second curve on the road to Fazzon-Lago dei Caprioli known as the «Senter dela Palù» or also called “Sentiero degli Gnomi (Dwarf Trail); it first takes you to Malga Bassa, the Park's Visitor Centre.
