The Stablét Visitors' Centre offers a fascinating look at the world of marmots (large rodents commonly seen on the mountains). The centre is part of an old mountain hut restoration project. Simple info-graphic panels take the visitor on a fascinating tour illustrating the characteristics of marmots and their behavioural patterns. Images portraying winter hibernation, the spring 'awakening, how they organize their family units and daily «work» give excellent insights into the lives of these loveable creatures. A large model reproduces a typical marmot with its 'home'.
For more in-depth information, the centre has a small audio-visual learning room. A further info panel illustrates the Scalinata dei Larici Monumentali, a beautiful trail about an hour walk from the Centre surrounded by larch trees takes walkers through centuries of natural history. Alongside the actual Visitors' Centre stands a structure used as a gathering point for hikers, school trips and the arrival point for winter tours organized within the Park.
The Visitors' Centre stands at the foot of the spectacular Saènt Waterfalls in Prà di Saènt (also known as «Marmot Meadow»), close to the Scalinata dei Larici Monumentali.
