A circular tour that develops in the valley floor, among the woods and villages of the middle Val di Sole. Along the route, there are many solar sundials located on the homes of the local population.
From Daolasa, you reach the hamlet of Deggiano, where you can enjoy a special view of the village of Dimaro and the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, including Cima Nana and Sasso Rosso. Then, you descend to Presson via ancient connecting paths and continue along quiet secondary roads between the villages of Monclassico and Croviana. As you pass through these villages, it's essential to observe the facades of the houses, discovering the Artistic Sundials of Monclassico and Presson, each different and unique in its own right (some created by actual artists). In Croviana, you cross the Noce River towards the Plaze area and stay along the edge of the forest until you reach Dimaro, following mule tracks and forest roads. You then enter Val Meledrio until you reach the waterfalls of the eponymous stream, continuing along the Lec path until Costa Rotian, cycling on a flat trail. The loop ends back at Daolasa, passing through the hamlet of Almazzago.

After crossing the Noce River along the bridge in the municipality of Croviana, take a moment to visit the MMape, the Bee Mill Museum.

Safety information

From Deggiano, once you take the path, you descend towards Presson: this short section of the trail is challenging due to the steepness, so be cautious. Then, before reaching Costa Rotian and exiting Val Meledrio, you need to cross the main road leading to Madonna di Campiglio: exercise caution while crossing.

Other precautions:

- Plan the tour according to your abilities and the weather forecast.
- Take it slow, be careful, and enjoy the scenery and silence.
- Adapt your riding style to the characteristics and condition of the terrain.
- Rely on bike guides.
- Wear appropriate clothing and gear.
- Respect the environment and the people who live there by taking your waste back down with you.
- Respect the trail and do not ride on paths that are forbidden for bikes. Stop if someone needs help.
- Be cautious along the shared cycling and walking paths, which are also frequented by hikers.
- If you encounter pedestrians, alert them to your arrival and reduce your speed.

Starting point

Daolasa

Directions

From the Daolasa cable car parking lot, cross the bridge and continue until the intersection. Turn right, crossing through the entire village and following the SS42 for 200 meters; then turn left onto Via Francesco Guardi and continue along the road, crossing the village and then proceeding uphill towards Deggiano.

After crossing the municipality of Deggiano on Via dei Plazzol, continue on the dirt road, proceed along Via di Marau above the village of Presson, and continue towards Monclassico.

At the church of San Vigilio, turn right onto Via Battisti and then left onto Via di Novalina. Enter the village of Croviana and, from Via del Molin, cross the bridge that overlooks the SS42 and leads to the Mmape Museum. Continue towards Le Plazze on the dirt road.

Proceed through a long stretch in the forest until you reach the village of Carciato, entering Piazza S. Giovanni and continuing left onto Via Acquaseri.

At the junction for Val Meledrio, continue uphill to the right, following the road to the bridge that crosses the Meledrio stream. Keep climbing on the dirt road until you reach the hydroelectric power plant and the bridge that crosses the stream again.

Before the bridge, take the trail on the right, which gently rises to the SS239, and continue right towards Costa Rotian.

At the first hairpin bend, continue left onto a downhill single track, and after 500 meters, rejoin the paved road, which, passing through the village of Almazzago, leads back to the Daolasa parking lot.

Public transportation

From Trento, head up to Val di Sole until you reach the Daolasa station, using the electric railway "Trento - Malé - Mezzana," which allows bicycles to be transported on the carriages. For more information, visit: Trentino Trasporti -https://www.trentinotrasporti.it/viaggia-con-noi/ferrovia.

How to get there

From Bergamo-Brescia: follow the SS42 of Tonale.

From Bologna-Verona and the Brenner: take the A22 Brenner motorway, exiting at Trento Nord for those coming from the south, and at San Michele all’Adige for those coming from the north. Continue towards Cles, Val di Non, along the SS43, and after passing Cles, take the SS42 towards Passo del Tonale, Val di Sole.

Where to park

It is recommended to leave your car at the Daolasa - Val Mastellina cable car parking, which is paid for during certain periods, even in the summer season.
We always recommend carrying a repair kit with you: spare inner tube, pump, adhesive, patches, and a set of tools for quick repairs.
