Safety information

Rules for mountain hikes:
  • The accessibility of mountain trails is closely tied to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, make sure to thoroughly research the trail and its conditions before setting off. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office.
  • If you plan to reach an alpine dairy farm, or a mountain hut, ensure they are open, and if you intend to stop for food or accommodation, call in advance to make a reservation.
  • Tell someone about your trip and always carry your mobile phone with you.
  • In case of an accident, call 112.
  • Never leave litter at high altitudes, and if possible, avoid leaving it at the mountain huts or at the alpine dairy farms.
  • If you spot wildlife along the way, we urge you to stay on the trail, avoid getting too close, don't shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and frightening the animals.

Starting point

Marilleva 1400

Directions

Starting from the church in Marilleva 1400, descend to the left along the paved road. Continue descending for about one hundred meters. Before the hairpin bend, turn left onto a small road that goes under the ski slope, following the signs for Lago dei Caprioli-Malga Alta di Pellizzano-Via delle Malghe. Proceed along the road, which gradually becomes a dirt road. The forest road, with a gentle ascent, passes near a picnic area and crosses a bridge over the small Rio Lores. After nine hundred meters, you reach a fork and continue on the dirt road to the left. Five hundred meters beyond the previous fork, you reach a four-way intersection where you continue uphill, following the sign for Malga Alta di Pellizzano. At the next fork, follow the sign for Malga Alta di Pellizzano, which leads onto a trail. This route is part of the “Strada Laresa” and the “Via delle Malghe,” a long path that connects the most important malgas (alpine dairy farms) in the Val di Sole mountains. The trail then becomes a dirt road with a reduced gradient, crosses another stream, and near the fork for Malga Artuik, it begins to descend. You will soon reach Malga Alta di Pellizzano.

If you wish, you can follow the SAT 203 trail and continue towards Lago dei Caprioli.
