Vermiglio, I presepi di un tempo

📅 From December 8th to January 7th
📍 Vermiglio, Val di Sole

Starting from December 8th, Vermiglio is enveloped in magic. Along the streets of Fraviano, you can admire more than 30 life-sized straw figures depicting the arts and crafts of times past. The installations are visible along a loop path, with the nativity scene set in a real stable. Among the characters, you can see the Holy Family, the blacksmith, the cheesemaker, the chimney sweep, the farmer carrying milk to the dairy, women knitting, the emigrant (Vermiglio has seen many inhabitants emigrate), the cobbler, the farmer cutting hay with the "zot machine," the woodcutter, the mountaineer, the washerwoman, and many other figures. The straw figures can be visited for free every day until January 7, 2024. The path is illuminated from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

All the works were conceived and created by Marco Panizza. Thanks to the residents of the Fraviano hamlet for the kind concession of spaces and to all those who have donated something over all these years. Parking is available before Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII.
