A thematic path that retraces the legend of Princess Aulasa, in the Commezzadura Village, in Val di Sole.

Thematic path for children and families, a sort of open-air treasure hunt, with the main character, princess Aulasa.

According to the legend, Princess Aulasa held the secret of happiness and shared its spirit with the inhabitants of the nearby villages. She was loved by all: the people, as well as the spirits of the mountains, forests, and waters.

Along the five-kilometer trail, there are eight artistic installations made from natural materials by artist Francesco “Franz” Avancini. These installations will help Aulasa and the children rebuild a new world and help the princess saving herself, as suggested by the friendly spirits.

The path was created by the municipal administration of Commezzadura in collaboration with “Il Trentino dei Bambini.”

It is recommended for children 5 and up.

Safety information

Rules for mountain hikes:
  • The accessibility of mountain trails is closely tied to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, make sure to thoroughly research the trail and its conditions before setting off. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office.
  • If you plan to reach an alpine dairy farm, or a mountain hut, ensure they are open, and if you intend to stop for food or accommodation, call in advance to make a reservation.
  • Tell someone about your trip and always carry your mobile phone with you.
  • In case of an accident, call 112.
  • Never leave litter at high altitudes, and if possible, avoid leaving it at the mountain huts or at the alpine dairy farms.
  • If you spot wildlife along the way, we urge you to stay on the trail, avoid getting too close, don't shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and frightening the animals.

Starting point

Commezzadura tourist office

Directions

We start at the tourist office in Commezzadura, where you can pick up a free book with the story and all the necessary instructions to begin.

Then, you start walking along the circular path towards Novaia and descend to Mastellina before returning to the tourist office, where you will receive a small piece of the princess's world as a gift!

Public transportation

You can reach Val di Sole by taking the TRENTO - MALE' - MEZZANA train (download the schedule for both outbound and return trips) to Mezzana.

From there, you can catch the MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - VERMIGLIO - TONALE bus (download the schedule for both outbound and return trips) to Mestriago. From the bus stop, you can walk to the tourist office.

How to get there

Follow the SS43 road to Mostizzolo. Then take the SS42 road to Mestriago.

Where to park

Parking is available at the tourist office in Mestriago.
To tackle this hike, we recommend wearing hiking boots and a hat, and bringing a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and a water bottle in your backpack.
