Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.
Passing through picturesque small waterfalls, you enter the beautiful forest of Swiss stone pines and larches. With some switchbacks, you reach a grassy ridge that you climb up until you reach Pian Venezia (hut/viewpoint on the right).
The view of Val Venezia and the Cevedale is splendid. At Pian Venezia, next to the hut, you spot trail number 146, which will be taken on the descent.
Trail 102 continues north with a gentle slope, steadily gaining altitude, leading to Rifugio Larcher (2608 m), a comfortable mountain refuge.
Cross to the opposite side from the ascent, and to the left of the chapel, there is trail 103 that leads to La Forcola.
The trail initially descends into the hollow below and enters the center of the valley that climbs towards the pass.
At the signpost indicating the junction between trail 103 and the glacier route, turn right and climb along the slope with some switchbacks and steep sections until you reach La Forcola at 3032 m.
The return follows the same path taken on the way up.
