The Val di Rabbi cross country trail winds along a 5 km long route within the Stelvio National Park and is quite varied both from a technical standpoint and in terms of landscape. The quiet environment, thick woods and crystal water streams running through the whole valley offer cross country skiers an opportunity to follow the trail with adventure spirit, while cross country racers may find an opportunity to exercise in a top class natural training ground.
The trail offers different levels of difficulty. The first stretch of the route winds on a flat ground amongst the woods. After crossing the Rabbies, the trail runs along it for a while up to a turning point, where the more experienced skiers may choose to cope with the most demanding stretch, while novices can turn back and follow the final bit of the track and return to the starting point. The trail is partly lighted for night skiing. Worth noticing in the easy part of the trail is the «Veneziana» water-driven sawmill whereas in the medium difficulty stretch you may enjoy an evocative view over the Rio Largaiolo waterfalls.
