The Cogolo cross country ski trail winds on the bottom of a flat hollow and is an ideal trail for beginners. Three easy trails boast a magnificent view and the area is sun-lit most of the day. The trail route is all within the boundaries of the Stelvio National Park, in a natural setting of amazing beauty.
Starting off from the Biancaneve ski slope, the trail follows a touring track going past the ancient little church known as Pegaia (in the first part of the route), that dates back to the early 15th Century and boasts several remarkable frescoed walls on the façade. The trail then continues towards Malga Mare, going past the Rio Polveriera waterfalls on the right-hand side. Continuing southward, the route turns along the Muracci slope and then the Contra slope, to continue for a stretch along the River Noce, just as it is born after the merger of Noce Bianco and Noce Nero. You will then get to the so-called Plaze area, where you will enjoy a nice view over Cogolo and Celentino, then continue past the typical restaurant named «Il Mulino» and turn back towards the starting point.
