Trekking with high historical value in Val del Monte, a territory fiercely contested by the Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies during the Great War of 1915-18.

This route crosses places of deep emotion, which still today tell stories of life during the sad period of the Great War: trenches, fortifications, huts, and military paths, which testify to the presence of Italian troops opposing the Austrian military line located between Monte Cevedale and Punta S. Matteo.

Places to stop are: the “Stói de la Vegaia,” a series of tunnels carved into the rock used as lookout posts, shelter, and ammunition storage.
