You reach an altitude of 1770 meters, where there is a convenient parking lot. From here, you will need to pedal to Malga Stabli to reach the start of the route.
The ascent is on a dirt road: as you climb, the vegetation becomes sparser, transitioning from a fantastic larch forest to the highest point, where small shrubs and rhododendrons grow. Once you reach the highest point, prepare for the descent along the trail, characterized by a very nice mixed surface that is fun to ride until you reach Malga Stabli, a refreshment point with a bar and restaurant.
Other precautions:
- Plan the tour according to your abilities and the weather forecast;
- Go slowly, be cautious, and enjoy the scenery and silence;
- Adapt your riding style to the characteristics and condition of the terrain;
- Rely on bike guides;
- Wear appropriate clothing and equipment;
- Respect the environment and the people living there by taking your waste back down;
- Respect the trail and do not ride on those that are prohibited for bikes. Stop if someone needs help;
- Be careful on multi-use paths and trails that are also frequented by hikers;
- If you encounter pedestrians, notify them of your arrival and reduce your speed.
Once you reach Malga Stabli, continue straight on the dirt road, which has some uphill sections. The road is well-maintained and easy to navigate: as you ascend and tackle the 5 switchbacks, you can admire the pastures of Malga Bronzolo and the splendid view of Mount Vigo.
At the junction for Malga Bronzolo, continue to the left towards Baita Laghetti. From this point, the road becomes very steep in sections. Once you reach the Baita, you can rest before starting again on a slightly uphill trail that crosses old pastures. The trail continues at altitude, encountering several wooden bridges, before starting a very steep but not very technical descent.
Descend in the direction of Malga Stabli until you return to the road leading to the Malga.
From the Mezzana station, it is necessary to move towards the village of Ortisè, either by car or by bike.
From Bologna-Verona and Brenner: take the A22 Brenner motorway, exit at Trento Nord for those coming from the south, and exit at San Michele all’Adige for those coming from the north. Continue in the direction of Cles, Val di Non, along the SS43, and after passing Cles, take the SS42 towards Passo del Tonale, Val di Sole.
