Suggestions

We recommend you stop for a few minutes at Malga del Dosso to admire the unique glimpse of the valley that you can enjoy from here. If you are lucky and the day is particularly clear, you can even see the "G. Larcher" refuge, overlooked by Cime Nera and Marmotta and by the Passo Vedretta Alta.

Safety information

The snow cover stability is subject to sudden and unpredictable changes. Always check the avalanche bulletin (on www.meteotrentino.it or other sites if available for your area) and get very good information regarding the current weather conditions at the Alpine Guides Office of the Val di Sole. The gpx tracks are purely indicative of the route but cannot be followed without a prior assessment of the slopes at the time you intend to make the excursion.

From January 1, 2022, it is mandatory for ALL skiers to have insurance coverage that covers liability for damage or injury caused to third parties. The revision of the mountain safety code requires all minors to wear helmets and prohibits skiers from consuming alcoholic beverages.

For all ski mountaineering excursions, appropriate clothing is recommended even in case of sudden temperature drops. It is necessary to wear suitable technical clothing that does not get wet in contact with snow (such as Gore-Tex), gloves, hat, sunglasses, and protective sunscreen.

It is mandatory to have with you the self-rescue kit composed of avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe (which can possibly be rented, see the shops where it is possible to rent it here). It is also recommended to wear a helmet (for minors the helmet is mandatory) or other active protection systems (e.g., backpacks with ABS-Airbag systems).

In case of hard or icy snow, the use of crampons is advised.
