Simple hike from Vermiglio to the locality of Raseghe: a green oasis where you can take a break and enjoy time in nature. From here, the itinerary continues to reach "Tonale Beach," a sandy area where you can admire the crystal-clear waters of the basins carved by the Vermigliana Stream.
A pleasant trail that will help you relax along the course of the Vermigliana stream, with the sound of its flowing water in the background. Starting from Vermiglio, you reach the locality of Raseghe, a large meadow area where you can stop to enjoy an outdoor picnic. The itinerary then continues to the crystal-clear waters of the bends carved by the stream over the years, where you can take a moment to relax surrounded by nature. Unfortunately, the path is not suitable for strollers, but since it is a simple and not particularly long route, children who are already used to walking less challenging itineraries will easily be able to follow you on this hike.

Safety information

Rules for mountain walks:
  • The passability of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, inform yourself well about the route and its conditions before setting out. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office;
  • If you plan to reach an alpine hut or refuge, make sure they are open and call in advance to book if you intend to stop for food or accommodation;
  • Leave information about your itinerary and always carry your mobile phone;
  • In case of an accident, call 112;
  • Never leave waste in the mountains and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the huts or alpine farms you visit;
  • If you encounter wild animals along the route, we invite you to stay on the path you are following, do not get too close, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and frightening them.

Starting point

Tonale Pass - Locality Raseghe (1750 m)

Directions

Starting from Vermiglio, after about 8 km, park your car in the picnic area parking lot on the left side of the main road, just after the road maintenance house, about 2 km from Passo del Tonale. Here, take the only available path, which after a few meters reaches the locality of “Raseghe” (1,750 m): a large meadow basin equipped for picnics and barbecues where you can stop for a break in the open air.

Continuing along the dirt road and taking the first path on the right, you then reach “Tonale Beach” (1,650 m), a special sandy area formed over the years by the erosive action of the Vermigliana stream, which starts from the Alveo del Presena and crosses the locality, creating small and charming bends of crystal-clear water.

Crossing several small bridges, you finally arrive at the “Bait dei Cacciatori” above Vermiglio. The return is planned along the same route.

Public transportation

You can reach the starting point of the itinerary by the Trentino Trasporti line bus MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - VERMIGLIO - TONALE (download the outbound and return timetables). The itinerary starts just a few minutes' walk from the bus stop on SS42.

How to get there

Take the SS42 and at Ossana, at the junction, follow the road towards Passo del Tonale for about 13 kilometers to reach the starting point of the itinerary.

Where to park

Leave your car in the picnic area parking lot located in the immediate vicinity of the Casa Cantoniera.
For this walk, we recommend wearing trekking boots and a hat and carrying a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and a water bottle in your backpack.
