Safety information

Rules for mountain hikes:

  • The passability of trails in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, make sure to get good information about the route and its conditions before you start. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office.
  • If you plan to reach an alpine hut or refuge, make sure they are open, and if you intend to stop for food or sleep, call them in advance to book.
  • Leave details about your itinerary and always carry your mobile phone with you.
  • In case of an accident, call the number 112.
  • Never leave waste in the high mountains, and if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or alpine huts you visit.
  • If you spot wild animals along the route, please stay on the trail you are following, do not get too close, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing them and frightening them.

Starting point

Ortisè

Directions

The route is a true natural terrace overlooking Val di Sole, offering a wide view of the Brenta Dolomites and the Presanella, the highest peak in Trentino. Starting from Ortisè, a characteristic mountain village at 1477 m altitude, you can park your car in the lot next to the small church. From here, follow the carriage road towards Malga Stabli (1814 m), easily walkable even with a stroller or possibly reachable by car without needing permits. After about 7 km of walking, you will reach the beautiful malga. Take a break to admire the panorama and enjoy typical Trentino dishes from the menu. The return follows the same path.

From Malga Stabli, which offers a dining service, it is possible to continue towards Malga Bronzolo: after crossing Val del Molinac, you enter a forest of fir and larch trees and then follow a winding, very panoramic stretch leading to the wide pasture around Malga Bronzolo (2084 m), where you can meet friendly cows, goats, and other grazing animals. From there, return to Malga Stabli by the same route.
