The starting point is Peio Fonti where you take the Tarlenta cable car to Rifugio Scoiattolo and then the chairlift to Rifugio Doss dei Gembri (2,380m). From the refuge follow SAT 105, a military road dating back to 1915/1918, which climbs to reach the ridge of Monte Vioz. Continuing uphill (the road is not too steep) passing the Dente del Vioz, a characteristic tooth-shaped tower, and some tight turns you arrive at Brick (3,206m), a section of the road equipped with a metal rope (pay close attention here). The last part is also a series of hairpin bends and finally you reach Rifugio Vioz Mantova (3,535m).
From here follow the summit until you reach Monte Vioz (3,645m), where you enjoy an extraordinary view over the Tredici Cime, the Adamello-Presanella, and the Brenta Dolomites. After a short walk on the glacier, you reach Punta Linke (3,631m) and the interesting archaeological site from the Great War. In recent decades, the ice and snow have preserved the entire fort in its original state, allowing the creation of an exceptional open-air high-altitude museum.
