Safety information

To undertake a mountain hike we suggest:

• choose a route suited to your preparation. If in doubt, contact the Mountain Guides or our Information Offices
• prepare your hike: check the weather forecast, the route you will follow, and the operating times of lift facilities if your itinerary involves their use. Remember that the passability of routes in a mountain environment is closely linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, get well informed about the route and its conditions before setting off
• leave information about your itinerary, your approximate return time, and carry a mobile phone
• pay attention to the signs and markings along the route: Stelvio Park signs, white and red SAT signs, and red and white brushstrokes on stones or trees
• book in advance the mountain hut or refuge where you plan to eat or sleep
• never leave rubbish in the mountains and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the huts or alpine farms you visit
• if you spot wild animals along the route, please stay on the path, do not approach too closely, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and frightening them

Starting point

Directions

Starting from the parking lot in the Banchje area north of the village of Terzolas, take the SAT 117A trail to Cima Vese and follow the old "Strada del mont" until you reach the Malghetto di Terzolas. Here we recommend taking a break to admire the surrounding panorama including the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello Presanella. For the return, follow the same route as the outward journey.

Public transportation

You can reach the village of Terzolas with the TRENTO-MALE'-MEZZANA train (download timetable for outbound and return).

How to get there

Follow the SS42 and after passing the Municipality of Caldes, at the exit for the center of the village of Terzolas, exit to the right and follow the signs for Arnago.

Where to park

You can park at the parking lot in the Banchje area by requesting a permit from the Municipality of Terzolas.

To undertake a mountain hike it is always useful to:

• wear trekking boots suitable for uneven, irregular, and wet ground, long trousers, a hat, and sunglasses
• put a waterproof jacket, a fleece, a hat and gloves, sunscreen, and a minimum change of clothes in your backpack
• bring a water bottle and snacks for energy dips (nuts, bars, or chocolate)
• don't forget a camera or mobile phone to capture the panoramas and views you like best. If you want, you can share them on social media using #visitvaldisole
