Safety information

To face a mountain hike we suggest you to:

• choose a route suited to your preparation. In case of doubt, contact the Mountain Guides or our Information Offices
• prepare your hike: check the weather forecast, the path you will follow and the schedules of the lifts, if your itinerary requires their use. Remember that the accessibility of routes in a mountain environment strictly depends on the current conditions and therefore on natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, get well informed about the route and its conditions before leaving
• leave information about your itinerary, the approximate time of return and bring your mobile phone with you
• pay attention to the signs and signals you find along the route: Stelvio Park signs, SAT white and red signs and red and white brush strokes on rocks or trees
• book in advance the hut or refuge where you plan to stop for eating or sleeping
• never abandon waste at high altitude and, if possible, avoid leaving it near the shelters or huts you will visit
• if you spot wild animals along the route, we invite you to stay on the path you are walking, do not approach them too closely, do not shout and keep your dog on a leash to prevent instinctively chasing them and frightening them

Starting point

Directions

Once you have reached by car the locality Masi di Zora, located above the small village of Pracorno in Val di Rabbi, the route that will take you to the hut begins. Follow the dirt road towards Malga Mondent. From here, proceeding on the right, you will reach Malga Cortinga Alta. The trail that leads you to the hut runs for about 4 kilometers and 650 meters of elevation gain and will allow you to reach the hut in about 2 hours of walking.

Public transportation

You can reach the locality Masi di Zora by the regular bus line MALÈ - RABBI BAGNI - SOMRABBI download the outward and return schedules) up to the Pracorno stop. From Pracorno, it will take you about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the starting point of the route.

How to get there

Follow the SS42 up to the exit for the center of the town of Terzolas. Then proceed along Via Nazionale until you reach the roundabout and take the second exit towards Val di Rabbi. From here follow the SP86 and shortly after passing the Molino Ruatti, turn right following the signs for Pracorno.

Where to park

You can leave the car at the parking lot that you will find at the locality Masi di Zora.

To face a mountain hike it is always useful to:

• wear trekking boots suitable for uneven, irregular and wet ground, long pants, hat and sunglasses
• put in your backpack a waterproof jacket, a fleece sweater, hat and gloves, sunscreen, minimum spare clothing
• bring a water bottle and snacks for energy drops (dried fruit, bars or chocolate)
