Directions
From Peio Fonti, you reach the village of Fontanino (1670 m), where you leave your car (during the summer months, the Stelviobus shuttle bus Peio is active). At the small bridge, take the SAT trail 110, which leads to Lago di Pian Palù and follows its entire length up to Malga Palù (1820 m). Keeping to the right (orographically), avoiding the bridge over the Noce stream, you climb along trail 110, reaching the "Laghetti" lake (2240 m) in about an hour. Take a break on its shores to admire the unique colors and surrounding panoramas, then continue to the footbridge and, turning right, follow SAT trail 141A to complete a loop descending to the ruins of the Baiti di Villacorna. From here, you climb for about ten minutes to find the new footbridge over the Valpiana stream. From here, following the stakes planted in the ground, you will reach the sign indicating the ascent to Lagostiel (2455 m) via SAT 141 and then via the Sentiero della Fauna, or descending towards Malga Paludei at 2100 m (a detour suggested if you feel tired). Both routes develop up to Malga Giumella (1950 m) with SAT trail 124, from where you return to Fontanino via a dirt road (124A).
Following the route to Lago Laghetti, it is also possible to reach another small alpine lake: After passing Lago Laghetti and reaching the footbridge over the Noce River, you can turn left and follow the directions to Laghetto della Vallumbrina. After a first flat stretch, the path becomes steeper, reaching a waterfall and then the small lake, a little gem with sky-blue colors that will reward your effort.
