A high-altitude route with unique landscape views, where the protagonists are the glaciers and the profound changes they have generated in the Alpine landscape.

Over millennia, glaciers have shaped the Alpine landscape, creating glacial valleys with the typical U-shaped profile and lateral moraines, remnants of erosive activity. This high mountain route, which takes place entirely above 2,000 meters altitude (reaching up to 2,600), allows us to admire these unique landscapes. From the Pian Venezia Refuge, there is a wide view over Val Venezia, a glacial valley with the typical U-shape. The valley was carved by the Vedretta de la Mare and other glaciers that once extended to these heights, covering and shaping it with the weight of their movements. In the valley, you can also see the residues of this erosive action, the lateral moraines left by the various glacier tongues that occupied the valley in past times.
