Medium difficulty route among wonderful alpine lakes with a spectacular view of the Brenta Dolomites.
Pleasant hike starting from the Alpe Daolasa Refuge (easily reachable by Daolasa Cableway - Val Mastellina) climbing Monte Vigo to quickly reach the Orso Bruno Refuge. Among beautiful views of the Brenta Dolomites, the route reaches the Three Lakes, majestic alpine water mirrors nestled among the rocks, then crosses larch and stone pine woods to reach the charming Lago delle Malghette.
To face a mountain hike we suggest you:
Once you reach the Alpe Daolasa Refuge, climb along Monte Vigo until you reach the Orso Bruno Refuge. From here, go down the road westward until you take the SAT 267 trail towards Lago Alto. Follow the trail to the first of the Three Lakes and then easily reach the other two, the middle and the lower one. Skirting the latter along a very steep path, you reach Lago Scuro. Then descend through dense woods until you reach the charming Lago delle Malghette. From here, follow the signs for the Shepherds' Path which leads back to the starting point.
Alternatively, from the Campo Carlo Magno cross-country ski center parking lot, take the dirt road towards Lago delle Malghette and follow it until Baita Ciocomiti - Malga Vigo. From here, take the SAT 201 trail until you reach the lake and continue along the path crossing old peat bogs, larch and stone pine woods until you reach Lago Scuro. Then follow the steep path to the first of the three lakes, then continue to the other two and close the loop returning to Lago delle Malghette and then back to the Campo Carlo Magno cross-country ski center.
You can reach Daolasa by train TRENTO - MALE' - MEZZANA up to the Daolasa Cableway - Val Mastellina parking lot. From here, you can reach the starting point of the hike by cableway.
Follow the SS42 to the village of Mestriago and at the junction take the exit on the right. After passing the tourist information office, turn left and reach the lift parking lot.
