Ascent to Cima Nana from the Bevedere chairlift

Long and refreshing itinerary thanks to the panoramas you can admire in the second part of the ascent.

The excursion passes by the former Malga Scale and almost entirely ascends the narrow and characteristic Valle del Vento. Near its top, turn right to reach the characteristic Costanzi bivouac and then, via a steep trail in the scree, the Sella della Nana.

Once you have crossed the pass, continue along a steep and exposed section of the trail that allows you to reach the summit cross of Cima Nana. Overall, it is a long route with often steep slopes and thus suitable for trained individuals.

Starting point

Folgarida - Belvedere (1344m)

Directions

Descend along the dirt road towards the Ronzola locality (1299m) and pass it.

Beyond the aforementioned locality, there is a junction on the left descending towards the valley floor. Turn left and descend until you meet the dirt road below.

Upon reaching the road, continue uphill to the right until arriving at a large square with an information board.

Turn left and cross the bridge over the Meledrio stream (Pont del Pastrin – 1214m).

After the bridge, take the right road ascending immediately along the mountain slope, making a left hairpin turn and then a long traverse through the forest.

Upon reaching the sign of the rock climbing gym, the road descends and shortly after you find the steep trail (sign) ascending to the right (trail 329b).

Via a steep trail, join with trail 329 coming up from the left and proceed right towards the south, also passing the junction with trail 365b leading to the Malga di Carciato.

Still in the forest, the trail ascends now with reduced slope above some rocky bands and after a final flat stretch reaches the meadow of Malga Scale (1564m).

The trail after Malga Scale remains on the left side of the valley and allows you to overcome some rocky barriers that close the passage. Above the rocky barriers, trail 329 enters the narrow Valle del Vento with steeper slopes than previously encountered. During the passage through the rocky bands, you pass by the spring called: acqua dei Tartari.

A short section in a gully with a steel cable is mandatory, and once past the steep section where the valley turns more sharply right, the trail leaves the valley floor and climbs the limestone slabs on the left towards Sasso Rosso.

You reach the junction for the Costanzi bivouac (sign), now visible to the left towards north, northwest.

Reach it on flat ground.

From the Costanzi bivouac, you have to climb the steep scree slope that leads, still on a trail, to the Sella de la Nana located to the left of the Sasso Rosso summit.

Upon reaching the saddle, continue left along the ridge and then on the east side of the ridge, on an exposed trail, until you reach the summit of Cima Nana.

The return is along the ascent route.

How to get there

Arrive at Folgarida in Val di Sole and park on the left when going up, downstream of Belvedere (large parking lot with hotel along the last straight stretch leading out of the village). Park at the entrance of the dirt road that descends into Val Meledrio passing through the Ronzola locality (Sat signs).
