Pleasant and peaceful walk through the woods surrounding Marilleva 1400, leading to the small chapel of Madonnina delle Cime.
Easy route suitable for everyone and also accessible with a stroller, starting from Marilleva 1400 and leading to the unique Madonnina delle Cime chapel. The trail winds through a lush fir forest, offering a refreshing break from the summer heat in the shade of century-old trees, before reaching the little chapel built with wood and other natural materials.

  • Never leave waste in the high mountains, and if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or alpine huts you visit.
  • If you spot wild animals along the route, please stay on the trail you are following, do not get too close, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing them and frightening them.

Starting point

Marilleva 1400

Directions

After passing the Church of the Transfiguration located in Marilleva 1400, walk for about 150 metres and then take the path on the left at the bend. After crossing Ponte Basso (1441 m) over the Rio Lores stream, you’ll enter a lush fir forest until you reach the wayside shrine of the Madonnina delle Cime. Along the walk, you can take a break to enjoy the silence of the forest and connect with nature, thanks to the benches and fixed tables placed along the route.

To return, you can retrace the same path. Alternatively, you can follow the route towards Ponte Alto, where the trail intersects with the path leading to the Laghi del Malghet. From there, descend towards the Residence Artuik and return to the starting point.

You can reach Marilleva 1400 by Trentino Trasporti line bus MALE’ – MEZZANA – MARILLEVA 1400 (download the outbound and return timetables).

How to get there

Drive along the SS42 to Mezzana. At the roundabout, take the second exit and follow the uphill switchbacks leading to Marilleva 1400.

Where to park

There are several parking areas along the road to Marilleva 1400.
To undertake this hike, we recommend wearing hiking boots and a hat, and bringing a backpack with a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
