Okay, it's time to leave your comfort zone, the learing area. After a few falls and plenty of useful advice from your Ski Instructor, it's time to spread your wings (well, maybe avoid actually flying, you're right…) 😊
The 3 ski areas in Val di Sole offer lots of fun options even for those who have just started skiing: wide slopes with easy gradients, just the way you like them (we know that the width of the slope reassures you from the possibility of crossing paths with skiers who are too fast for your taste).
Put your fears aside and follow our advice: we'll take you skiing on slopes suitable for your skill level.
From the arrival point of the Daolasa - Val Mastellina gondola to the starting point of the 3-seater chairlift named Mastellina: a descent length of 1100 meters, wide turns along and enjoyable slope. The gradients vary along the track, but they are never too challenging: the ample width of the course will provide you with additional confidence during your descent.
📍 Local tip: the slope is mostly north-facing, and the central and final parts are rarely sunny: pay attention to possible ice on the track!
The numbers we are about to give you will definitely reassure you: 950 meters in length with a vertical drop of only 124 meters. You'll understand that the slope, in addition to being very wide, is practically flat, allowing you to put into practice the teachings just acquired from your Ski Instructor.
Interesting fact: if your day on the snow hasn't tired you out, know that you can ski on this slope at night too, every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm from December 21, 2023, to April 4, 2024.
📍 Local tip: the slope receives loads of sunlight. Wear ski goggles or good sunglasses to avoid being blinded (not just by the beauty of the landscape).
It is the slope located at the lowest altitude among those we recommend. Served by a simple 2-seater chairlift, it's 900 meters long, with a total vertical drop of only 150 meters. The descent's endpoint is Peio Fonti, at an elevation of 1400 meters. The width of the slope will allow you to have maximum fun in total safety.
📍 Local tip: pay attention to the snow conditions on warmer days, since you may find some snow mounds that could slow you down.
The easiest ski slope descending from Monte Spolverino towards Malghet Aut is almost 2 km long (so, not short at all), with a great view over the entire lower part of Val di Sole. The route is varied and enjoyable, with simple gradient changes and curves that you can definitely tackle with your skill level.
📍 Local tip: don't worry when the slope narrows a bit midway down. The gradient is still very low, and the speed will inevitably decrease.
Located on the same side as the Passo dei Contrabbandieri, the Valbiolo slope starts from the mountain hut which has the same name and reaches the town of Passo Tonale, with a length of almost 3 km and a vertical drop of just over 300 meters. The view, that you can enjoy along your relaxing descent (or almost), is truly splendid, with the Presanella mountain keeping you company throughout the descent.
📍 Local tip: the descent takes place along a very wide slope, but for once, don't make too many turns as you might risk coming to a stop and having to push with all your strength, given the low slope gradients.
